This policy outlines our commitment to protecting the privacy of our future and current students who visit our websites and who register their details with us. For the purpose of this policy, the term “websites” shall refer to all websites owned by The Career Academy.

An identifiable natural person refers to anyone that can be identified with a name, an ID number, has a location or has any other information that is specific to them. The use of the information collected shall be only limited to the purpose of providing education through our services.

3. How we collect data

The Career Academy collects personal data from entering in data from contact forms on our main websites, filling out information over the phone with one of our staff, updating personal information from our learning platform or through direct referrals through consent of the individuals.

 

Third parties are also involved such as lead generators who gain interest of prospectable students through social media, other online advertising or print material. The Career Academy purchases this information exclusively and has all exclusive rights to the information provided.

 

We may also collect personal information when you complete surveys, contests or promotions or request for support or other methods of communicating with our staff.

 

We also engage other education providers who offer services that we do not provide. This is explicitly stated on product pages on our websites.

 

Call records are also stored for a limited amount of time securely and is not available for any third parties other than the phone companies to access. Information collected from our phone providers include phone numbers of students, time duration of the call and call quality.

We use tracking cookies to see where the most interaction is on our websites so we can improve our product offering and services that we provide. We collect information from students predominantly through google services such as Google Analytics which provides information on the general location of where students are interacting with our website from, estimated age, what devices students are using and which pages students are clicking into and exiting our websites from. This information is generalised and does not provide specific private details to us.

5. How we use your information

We may use the relevant information collected by you for the following purposes; providing a good quality of service, enabling you to access the services, process and complete transactions, product enquiries to send transactional messages such as promotions, surveys, updates in regards to your learning, contact you in regards to your payment information in cases of missed payments on a payment plan or to contact you with regards specific learning content.

 

We may request personal information If you sign up with a payment plan with The Career Academy, we provide companies that we partner with that offer financial services, your personal information such as your name, date of birth, contact details and payment information that you may provide to complete your transactions. The companies that we partner with are clearly labelled on our site on our check out page.

 

Where we rely on your consent to process the personal information, you have the right to withdraw or decline your consent at any time. Please note that this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Third Party Service Providers

To maintain our promotional information, to provide services for our learning platform, to backup information or provide to upgrade our services, we may need to provide third parties access to this information. This is only limited to provide a better service for the above reasons.

In certain situations, we may be required to disclose information with law enforcement agencies to meet law enforcement requirements. We may require sharing your personal information with a debt collection agency or between staff of The Career Academy to recover unpaid payments when it has been in breach of a signed contract.

Referrals

If you decide to refer a friend to us, we store their information in our database. Your friend may decide to not have their information in our database, it can be removed by emailing [email protected].

The data that we collect from students is securely stored on our cloud based server with the latest firewall technology. It is only available for a select few employees to access and is backuped and encrypted.

By default by submitting your contact details to us under expressed consent, you are automatically subscribed to The Career Academy’s communications. We offer an unsubscribe function allowing you to unsubscribe from all marketing communication.

9. Retention of Personal Information.

We will retain your personal information as long as it is required to fulfill the requirements of this privacy policy or if it is an requirement by law to keep the data for a certain duration of period such as for taxation or legality purposes. After exceeding this durations we will ether delete or anonymize it. If it is not possible as it has been stored in our backups, we will make sure it is securely archived and isolated in our backups.
